Who we are proud of

2010 Sportsman of the Year

This year's Sportsman of the Year Award went to Miha Zupan of Slovenia, born in 1982. He represented Slovenia in the 2010 FIBA World Basketball Championships in Turkey. His team placed 8th in the Quarterfinals.  Zupan is a power forward. He received a professional contract for two years with the St. Petersburg in the SuperLeague A in Russia and will also play in the Europe Cup ULEB this season.  International Committee of Sports for the Deaf is pleased to announced the WIDEX 2010 Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year award which is given annually to honor deaf athletes who have produced outstanding results in his/her sport discipline throughout the awarded year and to recognize their exemplary sport achievements. The award is selected by members of ICSD Selections Commission through electronic ballot. Miha topped out the other athletes to earn 60 points for the award.
